Bapusahab jog lost his mother; there was no such Brahmin at Shirdi as he should have to get the obsequious ceremonies of his mother duly performed; so he requested Baba to permit him to go to Nasik for the purpose, but Baba went on adjourning the day of his departure from day to day till at last only a day was left to the day on which those ceremonies should be started. 

Bapusahab informed Baba accordingly and stated that he must that day start for Nasik. 

 Baba cooly replied to him, "We will start this noon. " Bapusahab was in a fix; he could neither disobey Baba nor evade the performance of ceremony on the day fixed.

 However, just 11 A.M. that very day, a learned Brahmin versed in the family clan's lore came up. This satisfied Bapusahab, who was now fully convinced that the faith he had reposed in Baba was not in vain.

 SAI had all the eight great powers a Yogi possesses. He can become small, big, light, and heavy assume any form. Go and move without barriers, control, fire, air, earth, water rains, storms, etc. Once, he hung up the worn-out Masjids ceiling pillars a plank 2Ft. Long and 1/2 Ft broad with rags. He appeared to be sitting on that plank with His head bent down or sleeping on it, with lamps burning near the head and the feet. No one saw Him Climbing up or going down this plank, and all wondered how He managed to pass His nights.

       Comfortably over that small plank supported only by threadbare rags. Seeing

that people crowded there to see him aloft on the plank. He removed the plank and again started sleeping on the floor.

  

   The easiest way of attaining inner purity is by understanding Baba's saying and trying to live as per his saying and worship his full faith and reverence. Then, we can feel His presence in the Fukushima form. Being under Baba's care, we can easily attain a sattvic state of mind.

             

        Once, Baba advised Nanasahab Bhandarkar, " if anyone requests you to help in a charitable activity, you should

extend all possible help. In case you cannot help, it is better to inform them about your inability but not criticize them.

    Once Shirdi was flooded by incessant rains, thunderstorms, lighting, and the Holocaust of a hurricane. It was doomsday. Bhaktas prayed to Baba. Out of compassion, Baba cried to the universal master to control Indra, Varuna, and Vayu, the elements ravaging the atmosphere. The call to GURU calmed down the wrath of the details, and the Storm subsided. The village revived with glee. Shirdi was saved from the deluge. Abdulla treated Baba as his GURU and noted down all the Baba's utterances and word, which later guided those who came to seek help.

As part of his ascetic lifestyle, SAI BABA initially slept on the MASJID's earthen floor on a rough piece of sacking. One incident is related twice in the SRI SAI SATCHARITRA, which simultaneously illustrates his degree of renunciation and ability to perform miracles. 

The story tells how, at a later date, Sai Baba slept on a wooden plank given to him. The plank was described as 'four arm's length and one span wide,' which Saibaba suspended like a swing from the rafters only using old rags. He placed small earthenware oil lamps at each corner. 

All agree it was a miracle for not only was it 'impossible ' for the rags to hold the weight of a heavy large-boned man such as Sai Baba. But it was far too narrow for an average person to sleep on as he would have fallen off, and it was too high to climb up to. Each night, he was observed to be up there sleeping, although no one even saw him get either up or down. 

A Bombay (Andheri ) devotee had a great experience. His little daughter run over by a motor car was saved but was injured and took a fortnight to recover in the hospital. Though the hospital treatment restored her health, the speech she had lost was not re-gained; she became dumb, and though several remedies, medicine, etc . were tried, all of them proved ineffective. At last, the holy ash of Baba's holy hands was tested, and she started speaking as soon as she took its first dose. All were startled at the powers the ash of Baba's hands.
